LG Series

LGSunburst.jpg

LG Series:

Our Flagship bass. This ‘60s style bass is an alder/ rosewood combo bass and includes our own bypass-able our own ALLEVA-COPPOLO two band preamp, Pickups are made in-house specially for the LG to 60’s specs and material. This ‘60’s era alder/ rosewood combination is the sound heard on recordings from that era and probably throughout the later part of that century. That music and sound is still so fresh and current today as it was then, that it has made a comeback with the younger generations. To most of us, it’s the sound we grew up with and that familiarity why the LG series is our most asked for bass. Plenty of punch, and growl, and a thicker snap. Multiple options are available for fingerboard. Nitro and Poly finishes are available depending on your budget. Ask your local dealer what they have available or on order for that perfect fit.

LM

LM

As the popular music of the 60’s and early 70’s continued to grow to an even more popular world-wide reach in the mid to late 70’s what noticeably increased in popularity was smooth radio (smooth Jazz) and a worldwide takeover of Disco. Our LM series achieves those tones as well as what we consider a more contemporary sound that players search for still to this day. We use Northeastern Ash for the body and an all Maple neck (rosewood fingerboard available by custom order) which achieves that 70’s snap for those needing a little more snap or pop . The hard northeastern Ash gives that tight low-mid bump which will still cut through in the mix. Unlike our alder bodied basses these basses are painted in a polyester finish to stay period correct to that sound- however like all Alleva-Coppolo finishes even this polyester finish is painted in a very thin skin as to not smother the tone and to allow the wood to breath and get better with age. As with the LG & RA the LM too includes our bypass-able two-band ALLEVA-COPPOLO preamp and our custom in-house pickups designed to correctly represent this era of bass building.

RA SERIES

RA SERIES

With the increasing popularity of Soul, R&B, Funk and even Progressive rock of the 1960’s by the early 70’s these genres of music seemed to reach most favorable. Our RA Series, often spoken as our house favorite hits the mark on being the best of both worlds from those significant ‘60’s & 70’s eras of great bass tones. The mixture of an alder body (commonly used on basses built during the 60’s) combined with an all maple neck (almost a standard of basses manufactured during the 70s) then moving the bride pick up a tad closer to the bridge (as done on a very popular bass in 1972 to primarily to fit under a pickup fence) all creates a unique, blend of the two distinct periods of basses of their time. Many say these have the warmth of the 60’s with the snap of the 70’s basses. For those players with many different gigs or those looking to scale down to one or two working instruments this would be our recommendation and a great consideration. As with the LG & LM the RA too includes our bypass-able two-band ALLEVA-COPPOLO preamp and our custom in-house pickups designed to correctly represent this era of bass building.

KBP SERIES

KBP Series

The KBP was built for our favorite dude, Kirk Burkhardt Powers, who wanted a bass to take out on the road with him that has that classic rock sound. These basses have the mid-punch that is perfect for pretty much any style. Great for those Foreigner cover bands. Or if you’re in Foreigner. Standard KBP basses come with Alder and rosewood, with options of woods, Poly or Nitro, and also the option to upgrade to a “Custom Modified” which adds the J pickup to the body for a PJ configuration.

81009 Series

81009.jpg

81009 “old fashioned ELECTRIC bass”

This is a ‘50s styled bass and with its single coil creates a growl with attitude. Not for everyone, but at some point, you realize this is THE bass. It started it all. We can count on both hands how many we have made of these, and every one was very special. This bass is offered in Alder, Ash, Pine, and various Reclaimed woods as they come available. One piece body is offered for a Limited Edition version as well. Pickups are proprietary AC design, and wound in- house.

Resurrection

Yo! Shortie

Yo! shortie

Short scale bass experiment we made in 2010. 30” scale. 2 were made for NAMM and ended up in a couple of lucky hands. They sounded huge and had that classic short scale sound people look for.

Yo Show Tee TWO

Yo! Show TEE TWO

The second of the Short scale basses. This one has double humbucking pickups and features block inlays and an Alder body. 30” scale and the Proprietary pickups provide a huge sound! Bocote fingerboard was on this prototype, but other fingerboards are always an option if desired.

Goomahda

Goomahda

Medium Scale bass. This bass gives you a wooly, burpy sound that lays just right in the mix. Don’t tell your wife you bought this one. We built this one with a custom rosewood pickup cover, and oval mother of pearloid inlays for the fretboard. All designed in-house. Was first designed to fit the curves of the women, this bass feels great for all.
